I am someone who tries to not be careless with money, i spend on what i need.... and.... like to buy things i want as often as possible to, but what i need comes first.

But it seems that in todays world...what we NEED comes at a higher price than you think. Take someone who tries to eat a healthy and balanced diet, they wont eat crap food as it will not benefit them in the slightest. They need to have good quality food i.e; unprocessed foods, lean meats, fresh fruits, good mono unsaturated fats,....and thats just lunch! Here is just a few examples of how much standard quality food costs in the U.K from Tesco;

2x Blueberries: £7.96
2x Healthy Living Steak Mince: £5.96
2x Almonds: £3.98
Total: £15.96 ($24.4)

Quite pricey ay? Few other examples for ya....

Breast Enlargement by Transform - £3695 ($5646)
Dating Bootcamp by Love Systems - £1961 ($2997)
Virgin Active Gym Membership - Over £500 per year+ travel
It is fair to say that the world has successfully monetized human beings feeling good and looking good. How has the world done it? Simple....By making us BELIEVE that how good we feel is only possible by stimulus's external of ourselves.I still cant believe an advert i saw a while ago in a London Tube station, it was for a cosmetic treatment company and the slogan read:

"Confidence you can Afford"

How messed up is that....the general public view of the world is that your confidence is totally dependent on other people!!! How and why has it come to this. Did you know as well that a therapist will charge MORE to help you based on the severity of your condition. So if you have a mild case of insomnia it will cost less than if you had a severe case. Shouldnt it be the other way around? Oh Health Care is another perfect example of that as well, how a more severe condition will cost you more.

For a while now i have thought and tried to live by a simple idea that i have talked about a few times on my blog and in person with people i meet....My idea is to always generate how you feel from within....none of this conditional happiness, none of this feeling good one day then feeling crap the next. Its all about making sure whatever you are doing is making you happy. People do not realise the power they have to change everything around them, simply by changing their thinking, environment and physiology.

Try this, think of something sad while smiling......doesnt seem so sad now does it? How about watching a scary film in the bright sun in the middle of the day with lovely music playing in the background and 20 people with you....probably doesnt seem so scary does it?

You have more control over how you feel that you may realise, the examples above show that simply by changing the environment and physiology you can change how you feel instantly! But sometimes you cant control environment, or your physiology doesnt change how you feel, so what else do you have MAXIMUM control over?

Your thinking......

Just take a moment to take this one sentence in......You can control every thought you consciously think.......

Conscious thinking implies control

But regardless of this piece of knowledge....people allow themselves to get upset and get into negative ways of thinking. Whats even worse is that people get annoyed and angry over things they cant control....Like traffic jam's, kicking and screaming that you are going to be late to somewhere will not make it any different. But....thinking and imagining how amazing it will be to get to where you are going will make you alot more peaceful and centred. Never get angry over anything you cant control. Its a waste of time.

For everyone reading this i really want you all to try and do one thing.....For a week, practice making sure how you feel is dependent on you and only you. For example i regularly do things like dress badly or controversially, have days of eating crap food, dont wash, maybe skip a gym session, maybe do a home workout, intentionally get rejected by a girl, do something that most would consider socially embarrassing . I also every day when i wake up lie in bed for 5 minutes thinking about all the positive things i am going to do that day to make my life better. Consciously and subconsciously it helps so much.

All of these are done to test my mind and to train myself to be fully dependent on myself to feel happy.

Just remember guys....you can be independently happy :-)

Sam Ben-David

Question: Do you consider yourself someone who is independently happy, or dependent on objects or others?

Just a quick post.

It seems to me like the more you live....the more you realise that all the things that you can care so much about, dont really matter in the world. They hold no substance. They dont get you anywhere.

Perfect example is people who focus on their body too much. I mean what is having a nice looking body going to get you in life? Unless you are doing it for a sport or something. I'm all for eating well and going to the gym and keeping fit, but not to the point where....it takes over your life!! Like some people will not go out because they are "repairing" from the gym. Or they wont have that really nice double fudge chocolate cake because it may add 1/8 of a 1 pound onto their body. Most people dont even know that 1 pound of fat is 3500 calories.

Its just that, some things like that can get in the way of other things that matter. Whats made me realise this is my house mate, I've written about him before about how terrible his communication skills are etc. But the flip side is....he is extremely good at making money and very well educated on financial information. He even lives the Four Hour Work Week lifestyle and he has never even heard of Tim Ferriss.

Its a harsh reality but making sure you have good money coming in is far more important than what the best exercise for your rear deltoids are.

We tend to focus on what we want more so than what we need. Usually....Needs are logical, wants are emotional.....i like to try and live my life making sure that what i logically need i have as often as possible so that, i am free and at ease to get my teeth into what i emotionally want.

Today....i am at such ease, i start a new job soon, am about to begin a little company with my housemate (the one i talked about above) and this today has put my mind at such ease. Im currently watching the football, with a lovely cup of coffee at the ready and i just randomly had 4 boxes of Matzah and 2 bottles of wine delivered to me by the local Rabbi!! Its amazing how when you are happy and feeling good, more good things seem to come your way.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question: Do you find that you care more about things you want rather than what you need?

"Mum i want that one"

During our lives, we can change what we want all the time.

Remember when you were young and you wanted to be something...then as the years went on you may had changed what you wanted, then again and again and...again. Even in our 20's 30's and 40's what we want can change soooo much. We grow as a person, we discover new things in the world, it is inevitable that our wants are going to change.

Then there's me...someone who changes what he wants.....daily. Me and my mum speak near enough every day, and most times somewhere in the conversation she will say...."So Sam, what is it you have decided you want to do with your life today" Luckily my mum is used to my funny but impressive behaviour.

The thing is, what i want as in the end product, may change every day....but the core reason for why i have wanted anything over the last few years has stayed the same....There are 3 things about me that anyone who reads my blog regularly should know if they dont already.

1. I am at my happiest and best mental state when i am interacting and socialising ALOT on a daily basis.
2. I love being active as often as my body will allow.
3. I love, and i mean LOVE....doing something new i have never done. Basically i love Adventure.

These 3 things about me explain things like why i am a club promoter and manager, why i enjoy going to the gym so much and why i am so relaxed when i am doing something i have never done before. I have always known these characteristics about me on an unconscious level, but never on a conscious level until recently.

Last week around my birthday, i started to feel as if my life had become a bit mundane. Which would come as a shock to anyone who knows me and see's what my life is like here in Manchester. To put it simply without being arrogant and just stating facts. I am a Local Celebrity in Manchester and mix with footballers, celebrities, high value people, hot girls, have a great job and had over 200 people attend my birthday last week, there was more but i know this was the rough amount. This is something i have created over the last few years since moving here and i am idolised for it. But now i feel as if i want more.

So once i realised this and looked at the 3 characteristics i know about myself....i started to research ways that i could fulfill this.

Vagabonding

I read one of Tim Ferriss's recent blog posts, which was a guest post by Rolf Potts....I had never heard of him until reading it (aside from his book mentioned in 4 Hour Work Week).....but i read his article...then went to his site...and discovered a new idea that was PERFECT for who i am....Vagabonding. Vagabonding is defined to be about " taking time off from your normal life — from six weeks, to four months, to two years — to discover and experience the world on your own terms". Its about Long-Term Travel...wow....even as i write this i am getting excited!!!

As i looked more into the whole Vagabonding idea....i came across another idea which again, suits my wants and needs perfectly.....Check this.....

"Are you fed up with having to live by the rules? The rules which say you have to work really hard, make lots of money just so you can buy a house with a big mortgage.

And then work even harder to pay off that mortgage, until you can retire with a nice little nest egg pension…and finally start enjoying your life?

That didn’t sound great to us – and if it doesn’t sound like the path you want to take either, you’ve come to the right place."

This is taken from the About page of a website called Location Independent Professionals. It helps people get to grips with a world where you become Nomadic; you take everything you need wherever you go. Now if anyone has read my article about becoming Autonomous....you will have been able to guess how excited i must of got when i discovered all this information.

Nunomad'ing

Do many people know that because of advances in Social Media and The Internet in general....you can now work and earn a living from anywhere in the world with access to an Internet connection. Imagine that....you could travel ANYWHERE, live ANYWHERE. We are not bound by location. We are bound now simply by our own minds. There is a strong movement by people known as Nunomad's; People who have Mobile Jobs and can work anywhere in the world AND travel and have fun at the same time. Thats the dream of all dreams....most people used to save up so they can travel for a year and then come back home!

This appeals to me because i have never been someone who is attached to their home or gets home sick. I am someone who....i try to be Autonomy Minded, meaning that i have everything i need wherever i go. I do not mind if i dont have my phone or if i cant go to the gym or dont get that high quality meal. I can adjust to wherever i am. As said above....i am at ease in new places.

So knowing all this has made me believe that.....i want my life to now lead towards a few things......

Working on the move....I can do this by utilising my speaking experience and abilities to speak at Personal Development and Dating events, utilising my writing abilities to work freelance. And a whole bunch of other skills i can take anywhere like using my Social Media resources for Marketing and Promotional purposes, Teaching English, computer skill's, sales experience etc etc. Remember the average person has more skills than they realise. I could write a book on the Nutrition and Weight Training to get any body you wanted, that knowledge alone is worth alot.
Travel across the world to as many difference places as possible; Currently my list consists of Italy, Latvia, Cuba, Argentina, Korea, Thailand, Israel ( to see my family) and Spain....Spain because i will AND I MEAN WILL marry a Spanish girl, they turn me on just thinking about them!
To meet as many people in all the countries i go to (See here for an idea why)
What makes me excited right now is knowing that....there is something i know in the world that i can do that will make me ultimately happy. I have searched long and hard over the last few years and finally....i believe i may have found it.

So guys discover what the reason behind everything you do is, discover more about yourself, it will pay off big time.

Sam.

Oh and here is a useful table to help you discover whether what you love fits the Mobile Lifestyle

http://www.technomadia.com/uploads//2009/05/picture-23.png

Question: Anyone have any experience of Vagabonding, being a Nunomad, or Mobile Living in general?

As of tomorrow my brief 4 week period of working 24/7 will end....

HEEELLLLL YEEAAAHHHHH :-)

Over the last couple of weeks i have been too busy to properly focus on anything besides my Club Managing work. Now you would think because of this other part's of my life would start to get worse, for example my Dating life. But guess what, i have had more success than ever and have girls coming out my bum and ear holes and practically every possible angle you can imagine. How is this possible? Well its very simple....

Sometimes, the more focus you put on something, the more meaning you attach to it, meaning that the result is alot more important to you. So there is more of a chance of you lets say getting nervous or getting negative emotions when the time comes to put all your practice or pre planning to use. Like a Runner who has been training for the Olympic Try Outs for the last 6 months and when the big day comes, he gets nervous and anxious and doesnt make cut. Its such a shame.

Its not our fault that we feel strongly towards things we care about, its great...it lets us know that it means alot to us. But we dont want our emotions to control us.

So something i discovered was that, if for a short period you take the focus off of something you have been focusing on and place this focus on something else...the next time you come into the situation where you would have usually been super focused for that old task, you may find yourself more relaxed and at ease.

For me, the moments lately when i have been out in clubs, have all seemed...well.... trivial. I was at ease in every interaction, getting numbers, going home with a few girls. Its been really fun and the so soooo simple reason for that is that i didnt place any extra meaning on whatever was happening. At times where i was really focusing on my interactions really making sure everything was perfect, i would sometimes think alot about what to say before because i wanted to get it perfect. This sometimes put extra stress on me, not good. But over the last few weeks it has been super smooth sailing, i've met so many and had some great experiences with a lot.

The key thing to remember about what i was experiencing was that, the whole time just being out and seeing a really nice girl and then chatting to her has now become a trivial thing. Or for a more scientific/nlp term....it has become an unconscious competence for me.

I strongly suggest anyone out there takes a short break from anything they have been doing constantly for the last couple of months. Whether it be practicing your social skills or training for that Tennis Tournament coming up or revising for that big test. Just try it out, fill the time you would normally spend doing whatever it was you were doing with, maybe seeing a close friend or going out and buying yourself something new. Anything that makes you feel good. Just try it and let me know how you get on :-).

Now, i'm off to plan my dates for the next week ahead ;-)

Chat soon peeps.
